William Carter
Bill J. Carter is a retired minister, having served 42 years as pastor, district superintendent, and Holston Conference council director. After retirement, he was a consultant for church staff development in more than 400 conferences, districts, and local churches in the Southeastern Jurisdiction and elsewhere. Presently, he is a teacher in the Course of Study, the “Methodist Movement,” for the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.
Bill has been a frequent writer for Adult Bible Studies and has published eight books, two of which are still in print: Each One a Minister: Using God’s Gifts for Ministry and It’s Our Bible, Too: A Fresh Look at the New Testament by a Mainline Christian. He has taught Sunday school classes regularly for 25 years at his home church, First United Methodist, using Adult Bible Studies. Bill lives in Johnson City, Tennessee.
