The Rev. Sister Judith Schenck, a retired Episcopal priest, served for 21 years. She has spent 15 years as an avowed solitary for the Diocese of Minnesota and as a Franciscan Poor Clare solitary. She is a widow and the mother of four children. She lives in Montana.

Her articles have appeared in the New York Times, Reader's Digest, Episcopal Life, and many other publications.
