Michael Cavanaugh
A motivating speaker who is known for his clarity, humor, and use of illustration, Michael Cavanaugh has traveled extensively in the U.S. and overseas. Due to his broad leadership experience and heart to equip church leaders, Mike finds himself increasingly invited to speak at pastors’ events and leadership conferences. Mike recently completed twenty years as the pastor of Elim Gospel Church, a congregation of almost one thousand, located in upstate Lima, New York. He has appeared on The 700 Club and the Trinity Broadcasting Network. He has also been a frequent guest lecturer at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, and has spoken at several Christian festivals, including Creation, Fishnet, and Kingdom Bound. Mike is the founder of B.A.S.I.C. (Brothers and Sisters in Christ), a local church-based college ministry, and Mobilized to Serve (M.T.S.), a nationwide single adult ministry. B.A.S.I.C. was established in 1980 to aid local churches in reaching out to college campuses in their area. M.T.S. was formed in 1981 to "equip and mobilize singles for service in the body of Christ." Since then, more than fifty thousand single adults in both the U.S. and Canada—including the divorced, the widowed, and single parents—have attended its conferences and singles days. Mike has served as instructor of evangelism and preaching at Elim Bible Institute (EBI) and is currently on the EBI Board of Directors. He is vice president of Elim Fellowship, an association of 850 pastors, ministers, missionaries, and one hundred affiliated churches. A graduate of EBI and Roberts Wesleyan College, Mike is continuing his studies in the Doctor of Ministry program at Bakke Graduate School in Seattle, Washington. He and his wife, Terri, reside in Lima, New York, and have three adult children. To schedule Mike Cavanaugh to speak at your church or singles group, e-mail him at mpcpastor@aol.com.
