Rev. Marcus Jerkins is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He holds a BA in religion from Emory University, an MDiv and a ThM from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a PhD in New Testament from Baylor University. His current research concerns the importance of Black-skinned people in the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dr. Jerkins is also the pastor of the Resurrection Baptist Church of Silver Spring, Maryland, the proud husband of Courtney A. Jerkins, and the loving father of three children, Nathaniel, Naomi, and Joanna.
