Laura Mauro Kymla earned an undergraduate degree in mental health and human resource development. She taught a program for the hard-core unemployed, which included ex-offenders on parole and probation. She earned a Master’s degree in counseling and directed the bereavement department for a local hospice, creating grief support groups for children, widows, widowers, and the elderly.
