David Boersma
Born in 1936, David Boersma is the son of Hiram and Helen Boersma, both of Dutch descent. He grew up as the middle child of five in Longmont, Colorado, where the family belonged to the Presbyterian Church. David graduated from the University of Colorado with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Business. After brief stints at oil and sugar refineries, he had a thirty-year professional career as a nuclear research engineer and supervisor at the Savannah River Laboratory near Aiken, SC. He married Wyolene Hall in 1965 and they made their home in Augusta, Georgia, where both their family and Christian faith grew. They have four children and three granddaughters. David is an elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, and has taught numerous classes on books of the Bible, mostly Old Testament. He and Wyolene now live in McCormick, South Carolina, where they attend a Baptist church. David enjoys camping, singing, gardening, writing, and Bible study.
