Carolyn Wilcox
CAROLYN L. WILCOX, a preacher's daughter, dedicated her life to Christ as a child. Inspired by her grandmother's faith, Carolyn desired to seek Christ wholeheartedly. She has faithfully served in all positions of church ministry. Carolyn was married to her high school sweetheart, Ron, for over 48 years and together they have 4 married children and 7 grandchildren. For more than 10 years, Carolyn and Ron were missionaries in Kenya ministering to women and couples. While in Africa in 2011, they held a "worth of widows" meeting to teach the women and share with them their worth from the scriptures. On furlough in 2012, Carolyn unexpectedly became a widow herself, which forced her to come face to face with the reality of her own words…that her worth and purpose is in Christ alone.
Carolyn has encountered hundreds of women who struggle daily with finding their worth. This harmful attitude and injustice because of gender is contrary to the message and character of Christ. This injustice often hinders women from reaching their potential and spiritual fulfillment in life and in the body of Christ.
After receiving a call of God on her life, Carolyn faced countless obstacles and personal struggles. During this difficult time, deep hurt and dark secrets surfaced in her life, pushing her toward revealing deceptions from her past and exposing the suffocating silence of abuse that is uncovered in her first book, SNAKES IN THE PULPIT. Since that time, God has healed wounds and has taken Carolyn on an amazing journey bringing her to a new place of trust and purpose. She currently resides in West Virginia with her now husband, Gary, and new blended family.
