Sunset and Blizzard: Experiencing Lent

Lent is a time of prayer and meditation about who we are in the eyes of God, and as such it brings more questions than answers. God is at reach, but with all the challenges imposed on us as we try to reach him it feels as if we are trying to move in the middle of a strong blizzard. When that is gone, we can calm down and focus on the sunset–there is hope in Christ. In this collection, every poem is a prayer, based either on a Bible verse, an image, an experience, even a dream, in a journey to spend more time with God and less time with us. Daniel Ruy Pereira is a science teacher and a writer. A Christian made up of many different traditions, he nowadays serves God in the Methodist Church. He lives in Oldham, England, with Angelica (his patient wife) and Sophia (his curious offspring). He works full-time as a secondary science teacher.
