River Rock

All six foot two of Jake Southern stepped onto the gravel covered road atop the levy, giving him a view of the winding river and the summer haze-covered landscape of the Mississippi Delta. Jake had come home again. Home to what? He had left twenty-five years ago the town and people who had helped shape his life. Now he was summoned back. What would he discover there or uncover about himself and the people he had loved? Would he find them the same or find all his memories were lies? Jake would return to find the world along the Mississippi river different from what he had left as a young man. Was it different or was he? Murder, greed, betrayal, love and honor were what he found in coming home. And through all of this, he would find what he had been searching for all these years. David Wright says, "life really does begin at 50." That's when he began writing "stories" for family members, and through their encouragement River Rock was born. David paints pictures with words. Love of his native Mississippi Delta brought this novel to life.
