Recovering a Vintage Faith: Five Fundamentals of Evangelical Identity

Recovering the Fundamentals of Authentic Evangelicalism

In an age of evangelical confusion, Recovering a Vintage Faith boldly calls us back to the core of what evangelicalism is meant to be. Through a careful examination of Scripture and history, Cory Marsh argues that genuine evangelical identity is rooted in five fundamental convictions: the supremacy of Scripture, the exclusivity of Jesus for salvation, a zeal for evangelism, participation in theological education, and the necessity of consistent local church fellowship.

Marsh contends these historic fundamentals have been obscured by cultural and political forces, celebrity personalities, and a lack of biblical grounding, resulting in a modern "evan-jello-calism" that is anything but stable. With clarity and conviction, he shows how returning to these essentials will anchor evangelicals in a vibrant, historically rooted faith that is driven by biblical belief and behavior rather than cultural trends.

For anyone desiring a faith that is theologically robust, missionally passionate, and ecclesiologically grounded, Recovering a Vintage Faith is a timely and provocative manifesto. It issues a clarion call to embrace the fundamentals that have always defined authentic evangelicalism, providing a clear vision for what the evangelical church can and should be.
