Add Crossmap Books to your home screen

Crossmap Books installs straight from your browser — there is nothing to download and no app store account to sign into. Once it is on your home screen it opens full screen, with your reading tracker and your shelves one tap away.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open books.crossmap.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen (or the top on an iPad).
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The icon appears on your home screen.

On iOS 16.4 and later, Chrome and Edge can do this too — the Share menu item is in the same place.

Android

  1. Open books.crossmap.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen if that is what your phone calls it.
  4. Confirm with Install or Add.

Samsung Internet and Firefox carry the same item in their own menus, usually as “Add page to” or “Install”.

On a computer

Chrome and Edge show an install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar. Click it and choose Install to keep Crossmap Books in its own window. Safari on a Mac offers the same thing under File → Add to Dock.

Reading with the Crossmap Book Club? Installed, it keeps you signed in, so the timer and your shelves are a tap away rather than a sign-in away.
