myWorld Social Studies Grade 3 Student Workbook

The MyWorld Social Studies Student Workbook chapters are divided into individual lessons with reading skills and media /technology/graph skills taught throughout. In Grade 3, overarching chapters cover the basics of community, the environment, the United States government, and other Social Studies basics. Chapters begin with a "spark" question that asks children to apply their understanding of the main concept; a song; connection to "myStory" video (not available to homeschoolers); and vocabulary preview. Lessons provide a brief instruction in a large-print font that's perfect for beginning readers; important words are highlighted. Reading skill exercises are integrated into the lesson and "Got It?" summary questions provide an opportunity for application and assessment. 299 pages, softcover; consumable workbook.

Lacking these components will not hinder completion of the course, and Savvas currently does not offer a homeschool kit that includes these components due to licensing issues.
