LLorar con los que lloran (Weep With Those Who Weep)

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que lloraste con los que lloran? ¿Hemos olvidado a los que Dios cuida específicamente en medio de profunda aflicción? ¿Los estamos consolando como una extensión del consuelo de Dios para nosotros o les estamos dando remedios falsos que lastiman?

Existen muchos libros que hablan del sufrimiento, pero pocos hablan de cómo sufrir con los que sufren. Cuando hablamos sobre el sufrimiento usualmente pensamos en primera persona. Pasamos mucho tiempo buscando consuelo y esperanza personal, lo cual es bueno y necesario. Sin embargo, algunas veces nos encontramos a nosotros mismos tan inmersos en nuestro propio sufrimiento que olvidamos que también hemos sido llamados a llorar con los que lloran. Desafortunadamente, la iglesia y el testimonio de Cristo han sido afectados precisamente por nuestra incapacidad de caminar junto a los que están sufriendo. When was the last time you wept with those who weep? Have we forgotten those who God cares for specifically in the midst of deep grief? Are we comforting them as an extension of God's comfort to us or are we giving false remedies that hurt?

There are many books on suffering, but very few deal with "how" to suffer with the ones who suffer. When we talk about suffering we commonly think in the first person. We spend a lot of time seeking comfort and personal hope, which is good and necessary. However, sometimes we find ourselves so immersed in our own suffering that we forget that we have also been called to weep with those who weep. Unfortunately, the church and the testimony of Christ have been affected precisely by our inability to come alongside those who are suffering. This topic is relevant for all of us.
