El libro Introducción a la apologética cristiana de Antonio Cruz es una respuesta a la tendencia hostil que hay en nuestro mundo y sociedad actual, la cual tiende a ridiculizar a la religión y a la fe cristiana de forma especial, y por supuesto a la existencia de Dios, dando argumentos científicos, filosóficos y sociales para acabar mostrando que la fe cristiana es una fe "no científica, no razonada, etc." 

La razón principal del libro es, precisamente, responder a cuestiones fundamentales del cristianismo con la intención de proporcionar herramientas apologéticas útiles, no solo para los jóvenes, sino también, para todos aquellos que las requieran y fundamentar científicamente "La evidencia de Dios". 

Hay trece capítulos que, sin ser exhaustivos, abarcan los principales temas de la controversia entre la fe y la increencia.

Temas como: la apologética, la cosmología, el diseño, la moral, el problema del mal, las relaciones entre la ciencia y la teología, el origen del universo y la vida, la teoría de la evolución, la Biblia como inspiración divina, el concepto de milagro, la resurrección de Jesús, la historicidad de Jesús, las principales cosmovisiones religiosas del mundo con el cristianismo, etc. 

Dando, así, argumentos y respuestas a preguntas tan actuales como:

¿En qué hemos fracasado? ¿Qué fundamentos teológicos y racionales hemos inculcado a las jóvenes generaciones? ¿Por qué abandonan sus creencias cristianas? ¿Cómo es que no saben dar razón de su fe? ¿Acaso se haya insistido demasiado en los sentimientos y poco en los argumentos o la reflexión espiritual? ¿Cómo podemos revertir esta realidad?
