Grasping at the Wind

In "Grasping at the Wind," the author takes you on a journey through the peaks and valleys of his life struggles with addiction. Starting with his birth in Chicago, Illinois, he weaves his story into historical events from slavery to the present. In this book, the author discusses and dissects the problems of teen pregnancy, gangs, drugs, the "pimp syndrome" and many more issues that tear at the fabric of our nation using his life in the streets as a backdrop for these discussions… He discusses the futility of living life apart from God. The book then gives practical biblical solutions to these problems with the knowledge that there is not anything impossible with God (Luke 1:37). "Grasping at the Wind" is for everyone struggling to fulfill his/her purpose in God. Alfred Long is an Associate Minister at the Shalom Church (City of Peace) in St. Louis, MO. He is the founder of Jacob's Ladder Ministries and conducts workshops and seminars on addictions and related issues. He holds a Masters in Biblical Counseling from Masters International School of Divinity. He is the father of three children and two grandchildren.
