For Every Mountain: Reflections on My Life's Journey

Prayer, perseverance, and God's provision are contributing factors for overcoming the trials, hardships, and mishaps in life.

Just imagine growing up as an only child with parents who gave you just about anything you asked for within reason. Up until the time I left my parents' home, throughout my adolescent years, our household consisted of a deeply religious mother and an ex-military father who ran a tight ship in the home. Yet, my story tells of how far too often I looked for any and every opportunity to live a life that countered my religious upbringing.

The stories in For Every Mountain are all personal in nature and humorously detail many of the self-imposed roadblocks that I put in the way which I am sure delayed the blessings that God had in store for me.

You will also read about my sometimes-tenuous relationship with my father. Over time, we drew closer to one another before his passing. You will also read about the close relationship that I had with my mother and how her prayers saved me from getting swallowed up in the streets. I believe her prayers were the primary motivation behind the reaffirmation of my faith and trust in God.

With many of the foolish things I did before reaching manhood, it was imperative, whenever possible, to conclude each story with how God helped me overcome many of those shortcomings.

Much of For Every Mountain is about survival and a narrative of how the power of prayer can save a person who spent a considerable amount of time in the wilderness of this world.
