The editor of this book, thinks it necessary to inform the reader, that he made considerable alterations in it, with a view to its improvement. Many antiquated expressions were obliterated; many grammatical errors corrected; and some of the poems placed at the end of the meditations, on account of their being not at all appropriate, were expunged from the work.
