Confessing Our Faith: An Interpretation of the Statement of Faith of the United Church of Christ

Offering an interpretation of the Christian faith in terms of the overarching story of Scripture rather than the classical creedal style, Confessing Our Faith: An Interpretation of the Statement of Faith of the United Church of Christ is an example of the narrative theology of our times. Emerging out of the Statement of Faith adopted by the United Church of Christ in 1959, this interpretation not only describes the local and international discussion and process which led to the original Statement of Faith, but also reports the history and reasons for revision.
