BJU Press Reading 2A Student Text (3rd Edition)

Reading 2A: All God's Creatures is the first in a series of four readers in the BJU Press Reading 2 curriculum (each reader is sold-separately). Engaging artwork changes with each story and provides visual interest for early readers.

Before reading the selection, an easy-to-understand page introduces a relevant literary element; for example, children might learn about onomatopoeia ("sound effect words") before reading a poem that features words like "thump" or "buzz."

The story is followed by a "Think and Discuss" section that features discussion questions and new vocabulary, and often also features a "Look Again" section that provides an additional activity or question.

Interesting and developmentally-appropriate selections come from a variety of sources, including realistic and historical fiction, fables, folktales, Bible accounts, biography, drama, and poetry. Chapters progress in difficulty and are sequenced for readability and skill progression.
