Organized chronologically, chapters are easy-to-read and cover 26 biographies and 6 eras of music; each chapter should take approximately 15 minutes to read aloud. At the back of the book, listening suggestions are given, including links to music and questions for each piece. This course is designed to be completed with lots of hands-on activities that include timelines, maps, composer cards, games, notebooking, and other exercises that will help students remember what they're studying (chapters contain the text to read only; instructions for activities are provided in the introduction or online with the companion guide).
