A Month with Saint Teresa of Avila

Teresa of Avila lived in sixteenth-century Spain and was tireless in her reform of the Carmelite Order. Her writings include her famous description of prayer as friendship with Christ and her image of the soul as a castle with God at its center. This short book contains sixty-two prayers and readings (one each morning and evening for a month). It will help the reader to steep him- or herself in the writings and thoughts of this favorite saint, and the introduction will introduce Teresa of Avila's particular appeal. The special angle unique to this series of books is the way they accompany the reader on a month-long journey with a favorite saint or writer.
