Celeste Mohammed & Cory Thomas

Celeste Mohammed is the acclaimed author of Spree, a picture book about Winston “Spree” Simon, a young boy from Trinidad who brought the iconic steelpan to the attention of the world, and Pleasantview, winner of the 2022 Caribbean Readers Award among other honors. She has been a lawyer for the past nineteen years, but she has been making up stories all of her life. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, she graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University. Her work has appeared in The New England Review, Litmag, Epiphany, and The Rumpus, among other places. She has received numerous awards for her fiction writing. Celeste Mohammed lives in Trinidad with her family.

Cory Thomas is an illustrator and graphic designer who enjoys the art of visual communication and the process of turning ideas into imagery. He has worked with numerous companies including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Cartoon Network, and many others. He is the creator, along with Terry Crews, of the graphic novel Terry’s Crew. Cory Thomas lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
