"A sower went out to sow."
In the parable of the sower Our Lord explains that seed falling on the path, on rocky ground, or among thorns does not and cannot produce "a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold."
The seeds of discipleship can only be sown in hearts fertile and open to the Holy Spirit. Tilling that soil happens in parishes that are full of Catholics living lives of discipleship.
Yet while we long for this bountiful harvest, we are often at a loss as to how to accomplish it in a practical way. What steps do we take? How do we start and how do we continue? When will we have success?
In Made for Mission: Renewing Your Parish Culture, author and speaker Tim Glemkowski offers four keys to a radical change in parish culture:
Cast the visionPrioritize a clear path of discipleshipMobilize leadersAlign everything
Glemkowski outlines a simple strategy for evangelization that every parish can use. It is a must-read for Catholic clergy, lay parish staff, anyone working in ministry, and any dedicated parishioner who is passionate about renewing the Church.
