Why is our society in such a turmoil? What makes one society thrive, and another fail? What does the Bible say? We would submit to you that the MORAL ideas that a society embraces will determine its destiny. Those ideas make up the substance of the worldview – or religion – that a society has chosen to live by. In the beginning of the founding of America, for example, the original founders of the culture chose to follow the moral code which proceeds from the Judeo-Christian religion as found in the Bible. This resulted in the most prosperous, generous, creative, and powerful nation the world had ever seen. However, beginning in the early years of the 19th century, the dominant higher learning institutions in America (Harvard, Yale, Columbia, etc.) began turning the nation away from those Biblical roots; and thus, we now live in a post-Christian nation that has embraced the religion (or worldview) of Humanism. This has turned society on its head. As a nation, America has abandoned what had been the moral backbone of the society – the Bible. Therefore, what is right is now called wrong, and what was always considered wrong is now deemed right. As a result, all society is rapidly devolving. What can we do to turn this runaway train around? That is what we will investigate in this powerful study on sociology.
