Exploring Comprehension Skills (Middle School)

Reading comprehension skills are critical for future scholastic and life success. Provide students with practice on six of the most important concepts: finding facts, recognizing sequence, understanding context, identifying main ideas, drawing conclusions, and making inferences. One-page assessments are included (for before or after a skill is studied), and two pages of explicit instruction provide students with strategies for the unit's focus skill. The majority of worksheets provide high-interest reading selections which are followed by multiple-choice questions that provide practice for standardized tests.
