The Accelerated Piano Adventures: For the Older Beginner series is the perfect introduction to piano for students who don't need the cutesy-cartoons that often pepper beginning piano instruction books. Each level has four additional books (all of which are sold-separately): Lesson, Theory, Technique & Artistry, and Performance. A piano method based on discovery, creativity and adventure through music, students will soon become acquainted with the great Classical musicians and plenty of additional enjoyable works.
Accelerated Piano Adventures: For the Older Beginner SightReading Book 2 continues to teach students the basics of sight reading. Students will learn to recognize individual notes and note patterns (both rhythmic and melodic) through studying musical variations drawn from a variety of styles and composers. Students will learn to sight-read music that includes eighth note and dotted quarter note rhythms, major and minor five-finger scales, intervals through the 6th, plus one-octave scales and primary chords in the keys of C, G, and F major.
The Piano Adventures method teaches students through a step-by-step approach with constant review. This book is organized into sets of five daily exercises based upon the (not-included and sold-separately) lesson book. Students are to play one exercise a day for one set completed per week. 96 pages, softcover.
