In today's increasingly secular society, it is all too easy to forget that some of the major disciplines of science were founded by men of Christian conviction. Newton, Faraday and Kepler to name a few, perceived that through scientific insight they might 'think God's thoughts after Him'. Yet, over the last two or three centuries, science has become almost completely disconnected from its biblical roots, with the result that the academic culture in which science is practiced today is one of tacit – if not explicit – atheism. The New Creationism is written with the conviction that the first eleven chapters of Genesis provide an accurate account of the early history of the universe. Consequently, we can observe that the Bible reveals to us a trustworthy picture of mankind's origins and as a result this will also help us to decipher the purported evidence revealed by modern science and archaeology.
